This was a really long day. 22 hours of flying to get to Zurich, then a 6 hour wait to connect to Copenhagen. We finally reached out hotel just before 4pm.
After a quick shower and refresh, we headed out to explore the city.
We walked past Tivoli gardens and the town Hall then walked the length of Stroget, Copenhagen’s Premier shopping street. It is gorgeous. The street, the architecture, is amazing.
We eventually reached the end and across the road was the famous Nyhavn. Simply gorgeous. We couldn’t take enough photos.
We walked the entire length, then picked one of the many sidewalk restaurants to have a drink and enjoy the atmosphere. Chrissa and Rania had their first spritz, while I had a Carlsberg, of course.
We started heading back and found a canal cruise we could go on. It was so nice looking at the city from the water. We also got our first look at the little mermaid.
We then started heading back toward Tivoli Gardens. This place is amazing. It is supposedly where Walt Disney got his inspirations for Disneyland! Tivoli is now celebrating 150 years.
Rania went on a ride, then we had dinner at a restaurant in the gardens. It was now 9:40pm, it was still light outside, but we were exhausted. We got back to our hotel rooms, and crashed.
It ended up a wonderful first day in Copenhagen.
