Munich, Germany

Posted on July 19, 2017August 8, 2020

Today was a travel day as we made the long, four hour, trip to Munich. We arrived at about 2 in the afternoon and after a long check-in process we finally got out to explore the city. We walked directly to Karlsplatz, and then through the mall to Marienplatz. It was a very hot day, and there were people everywhere, but the buildings were still beautiful.

We walked into the Rathaus to have a look around and then headed out to the Hofbrauhaus for a beer. Chrissa and Pe also ordered beers (that’s what you do in Munich) so we spent some time cooling down and enjoying the atmosphere.

We then headed back to Marienplatz to watch the Glockenspiel at 5.00pm. We were getting tired after a long day of travel, so after some more exploring around the city centre, we found a nice restaurant, Donisl, near the Rathaus, for dinner. I had pork knuckle, which was delicious. The girls had their usual schnitzels.

We then made the long walk back to our hotel for an early night, ready to start exploring again the next day.
